Custom domain or subdomain for your help site

Even our free plan includes a custom domain option, so your site can live at help.yourdomain.com instead yourname.helpsite.io.

To help your users know that your help site is officially associated with your company, we recommend setting up your help site at a custom domain such as help.yoursite.com instead of using the default subdomain like yourname.helpsite.io. This is optional, but it does require changing your domain's DNS settings.

Here's how:

  1. Create a CNAME DNS record for help.yoursite.com (or support.yoursite.com or whatever you'd like) and point it to your helpsite.io subdomain (e.g. yourname.helpsite.io).
  2. Log in to your HelpSite.io page and click Customize. From there, you can set your custom domain.

It may take an hour or so before your DNS propagates.

If you have any issues or questions, just get in touch.
